Memes are the most efficient form of persuasion ever devised. One picture, a handful of words, no footnotes. The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure must be amended to permit the filing of memes.

Stu Panensky

Stu Panensky co-chairs the Cyber, Privacy & Technology practice at Pierson Ferdinand. When a company is hit by ransomware, a data breach, or a wire fraud loss, he is the lawyer on the call, from the first hour of the incident through whatever litigation follows. The work keeps him in daily contact with insurers, brokers, security teams, and other lawyers, which is why the memes are about them.

He is often described as a wartime advisor. On Fridays, he declares a ceasefire.

Peers named him 2025 Cyber Attorney of the Year at the Zywave Cyber Risk Awards. The memes did not factor into the voting, as far as anyone will admit. He also co-hosts #MorningBytes, a monthly LinkedIn Live on cyber, privacy, and insurance risk.

About Friday Funny

A serious practice. One unserious tradition.

People in this line of work carry real pressure all week. They are also human. They laugh, they notice the absurd, and by Friday they have earned a break. Memes are how I share the funny side of the job. The first one went up on LinkedIn in 2022, and the response was generous enough that it became a tradition.
